For journalists · open-sourced prompts · public run log

Press

A newsroom built around an editorial agent fleet, with every prompt open-sourced and every run logged in public. We exist to show that AI-assisted journalism can be more transparent than the form it replaces — not less.

Leadership

The libel-defense surface · named publicly
Abu Sufian Sarkar
CTO · Co-founder · Joint EIC for v2.0

Owns the v2 build end-to-end — schema, agent fleet, monetization, the public transparency surfaces. Audits every published article under the joint-EIC arrangement; signs every agent_runs review row that ships.

Himanshu
CEO · Co-founder · IT-Rules-2021 Grievance Officer · Joint EIC

Editorial direction, standards-and-practices, the bias rubric, and the IT-Rules-2021 grievance pipeline. Co-audits every published article. Public point of contact for complaints under /about/grievance.

“We’re not arguing AI should replace journalism. We’re arguing that if AI is going to be in the loop anyway — which it is — it should be the most transparent part of the process, not the most opaque. So we wrote that down, and built the site around it.”
— Abu Sufian Sarkar · EIC · April 2026 · approved for use without further review

What is and isn’t ours

The brand thegen.media is a trademark. The audited-by line, the masthead, and the bias-scoring dataset (sources.lean / sources.reliability rows) are proprietary. Derivative deployments using the open-source agent stack must use a different name and cannot claim the audited-by line or our bias-scoring dataset. Read the full posture at /methodology/legal.
